We are about to embark on a new journey to learn more about immigration, culture and friendship through the books The Hundred Dresses, Meet Kirsten and Molly's Pilgrim.  As you read, consider these questions:

 Who are Americans?

What is an immigrant?

Why would people leave their homeland and start a new life in a foreign country?

How does immigration affect the USA, Wisconsin and me?

Finally, demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of immigration and these essential questions through the following tasks.  Please choose one of the three final assessment activities listed below.   Click on the links to learn more about each project.  Remember what you have learned about immigration, culture, diversity, acceptance and friendship to help you with these tasks.  Have fun and be creative!

     100 Dresses Contest: Design a dress or a boat to be entered into a contest.  

                         Then, create journal entries about your feelings throughout the process.          

     Ethnic Research:  Research your country of origin and present it.          

     Newspaper Interview:  Create a newspaper article that introduces someone in our class.
